I have supervised many undergraduate and postgraduate internships at the Coastal and Marine Ecosystems Group at the University of Sydney. Internships are a minimum of 3 months long (10 – 20 hrs/week) but can be longer. Internships focus on the interns research interests within the boundaries of current projects. I strive to ensure interns learn new skills, from taxonomic identification to mastering 3D technologies and data processing.

Interns are given the opportunity to develop their own project and are encouraged to publish their results under my supervision. I also encourage team collaboration amongst interns and postgraduate students. In the past 5 years interns have contributed to much of my research in the lab and in the field; many have published their work and are now around the world either working in conservation or undertaking postgraduate research.
